Sapphire

Berlin, Germany

Background

The façade of Berlin's Sapphire apartment building is another gem by architect Daniel Libeskind. True to its name, the building towers over the corner of Chausseestraße and Schwartzkopffstraße with a shimmering façade ranging in colour from silver to blue to green.

The façade presents itself with edges and corners with a partial 180 degree rotation of the façade material. Behind it are 73 apartments and a supermarket. Our undercut anchor holds the fort here as well: it reliably ensures that the façade has embellished Berlin Mitte since 2017.

"I named the building SAPPHIRE because it fits the city and its people"
